We have been working hard on telling the time in hours, half hours and quarter hours on an analogue clock We are using the vocabulary of 'o'clock', 'half past', 'quarter past' and 'quarter to'.. We are also learning how to read the time in hours and half hours on a digital clock. Many children have even been able to challenge themselves and have been working on reading the time in 5 minute intervals!

We have been working hard on learning about length this week. We worked with a partner to find items around the room that were the same as, greater than and less than 1 metre, half a metre and quarter of a metre. We also measured 100cm, 50cm and 25cm against different parts of our body. We had also practiced estimating the length of objects using non-standard units such as cubes, counters, copies and other classroom items before moving onto measuring using centimetres on a ruler.
