Santa Sleigh for Temple Street
There was great excitement as we welcomed a very special visitor to Scoil na Naomh Uilig yesterday, 5th December - Santa Claus!
He was accompanied by the Gardaí and they are on a very special trip this week, collecting money for sick children in Temple Street Children's Hospital, while also dropping into to visit lots of schools on the way.
He was given a fantastic welcome by all the children and staff and he even insisted that no homework was give!
Many thanks to our families and staff who kindly donated to Temple Street.

6th Class Volunteering with TEAM HOPE
During the last week of November our three 6th Classes volunteered in the TEAM HOPE Newbridge depot. TEAM HOPE run the annual Christmas Shoebox appeal. The pupils were busy checking, wrapping and packing the shoeboxes for delivery around the world. A huge thank you to the pupils and staff for facilitating this and representing Scoil na Naomh Uilig so well.
Book Fair 2023
Thank you to everyone who was in a position to support our recent Book Fair. Books were purchased to a total of €5,096.50 meaning that the school will benefit significantly from the credit raised. It is our hope to replenish some of our class novel sets. Sincere thanks to our parent volunteers for their support over the two days of sales. Buíochas also to Caoimhe Cluxton for coordinating our efforts. It was lovely to see the excitement this special school event brought for our pupils.

Friendship and Anti Bullying Week
This week in Scoil na Naomh Uilig, we are all learning and talking about friendship and Anti- Bullying. We are exploring a different theme every day and learning what bullying looks like and what actions we can take.
On Thursday some classes held an ODD SOCK day to mark how uniquely different we all are.

Good Friends Certificates were given out at our 4th, 5th and 6th class assembly
Some more of our Good Friends Certificates, along with Stars of the Week, were given out at our junior and middle assemblies.

Witch and Wizard Walk 2023
Thank you to our parent body and families for joining us for two enjoyable Witch and Wizard Walks. It was a glorious day of sunshine and the children looked magnificent. We hope you enjoy a few photos from a very special fun filled day in Scoil na Naomh Uilig.
Our Halloween Assembly Stars of the Week
Cumann na mBunscol
Well done to the Gaelic Football u11 boys and u11 girls teams who have represented our school wonderfully over the past few weeks in the Cumann na mBunscol Autumn Leagues. Also, well done to our Senior Hurlers who put in some very gallant performances in their Autumn League. Thank you to the teachers who have helped prepare the boys and girls for these matches and who have travelled to the various games. SNU Abú

BACK TO SCHOOL
We have had a busy few days getting used to school life once again in Scoil na Naomh Uilig. September is truly up and running. Here is a snapshot of some of our classes. A particular mention for our three Junior Infant classes with their teachers and SNAs, they are settling in beautifully and we think they look simply wonderful!
A VISIT FROM THE KILDARE LADIES ALL IRELAND WINNERS
What an honour to welcome two members of the Kildare Ladies All Ireland winning side to our school with the Mary Quinn cup. Thank you to Róisín Byrne and Ciara Price for their time and effort in speaking to our pupils. Their love of sport and their home county shone through and it was a fantastic inspirational morning for us all. How proud we collectively are of these fantastic sporting role models, our congratulations to the entire panel of the Kildare Ladies. Cill Dara Abú!
SOME WELCOME NEW ADDITIONS TO OUR SCHOOL
There was plenty of work completed over the summer holidays. Buíochas to the Board of Management for their continued commitment to providing the best possible learning environment for pupils and staff.
Our new entrance walls were updated with beautiful welcoming displays, some recycled plastic picnic tables were purchased for our outdoor garden space, fencing in the sensory playground was replaced with the further addition of some sensory panels for pupils to enjoy, a new scooter and bike rack was installed outside the main hall and 5 interactive whiteboards were purchased for classrooms. How lucky we are with our beautiful school buildings and grounds.
