Senior Infants
Ice-Cream Shop in Senior Infants
Ms Finnegan's Senior Infants were learning all about money and addition of small amounts of cents, and this was a lovely, fun way to finish up our week. Their 6th class buddies also came along to the shop and acted as shopkeepers!
Literacy Lift Off
Last week saw the final few days of Literacy Lift Off in Senior Infants. The children have engaged so well with all of the activities. They were awarded a certificate by Ms Faherty and Ms Goulding for all their hard work in their reading and writing. We are so proud of their efforts. Well done to all!

What the boys and girls have been doing in January 2024!!!
The boys and girls in Senior Infants in Room 9 were so busy since returning to school in January!
The theme they were working on was The Birthday Party! They had so much fun with it! They made birthday cards; party food; set up a birthday party; played party games; made puzzles; sang ‘Happy Birthday’ in different languages, to name just a few! Emily sang ‘Happy Birthday’ in Polish for us which all the children loved!
In maths they were learning all about the number 9. They made sets, made lots of combinations within 9, added combinations of 9 together. They had great fun!
In S.P.H.E. they were learning all about healthy habits! The healthy habits they felt are important are: eating fresh fruit and vegetables; going to bed at a good time; drinking water everyday; getting fresh air and exercise everyday! They really enjoyed tasting all the yummy fruit!
Finally, Literacy Lift Off is in full swing in Senior Infants! Their reading, writing, vocabulary work and comprehension is improving everyday! Last week at the independent station they got to listen to some lovely stories on the Komber! They really enjoyed this!
All in all a very busy, fun and productive month for the boys and girls in Room 9!!
