Congratulations to this girl who earned Star of the Week for always demonstrating a positive attitude and maturity, for consistently working so hard in class and for being a great friend to others. Maith thú!
This week the Clovers have been looking at the school environment through Maths Eyes and have come up with some questions about the pictures above. Perhaps you could work out the answers? Or even add some of your own questions! :)
Flower patch: If you have 6 worms in each quarter of soil how many worms in full area? If you add 7 more worms how many in total? If you have 7 tulips but x7 that amount will be delivered, you also get a surprise delivery of 2x7 as many tulips how many in total now? 1f there are 30,000 grains of soil in 1/10 of the space. How many in 10/10 of the space. There were 11 flowers, each flower had 6 pollen how much pollen was collected from the flowers by the bees? Number 1: What is the perimeter of this square if each side is 7cm? What is the area of the square if each side is 7cm long? SeeSaw: If the seesaw takes 5 seconds to go up/down and this distance is 74cm each time, what distance have you covered in three minutes? If the distance from up to down is 22cm what distance have you covered if you go up and down 7times? Bughouse: If there are 80 holes in the bug house and 111 bugs, how many more holes are needed? Are the lines oblique or perpindicular? Scarecrows: How many scarecrows in total, multiply that number by 5 and then multiply by 8? Bench: If there are 13 planks of wood, multiply that number by 8 and then take away 17 Congratulations to our Star of the Week! This girl always comes to school with a big smile on her face. She is so kind, mannerly and hardworking and is a great role model to others! Her artwork is just fantastic! Well done, keep up the great work.

Congratulations to our very first Star of the Week in this school year! She earned it for her diligence and hard work across all subjects in class. Maith Thu!
Hello Everyone, I would just like to welcome everybody back to school and wish the Clovers all the best for the year ahead in Fourth Class. We are already into our third week of following new procedures in school and the children must be commended for adapting to these changes so well. Thank you at home for your cooperation with these procedures. As I am sure you are already aware, the Fourth Class stream have decided to limit the number of copies the children are using to two Writing and Maths copies to be used on alternate weeks. This will allow for regular monitoring and correction of the written work the children complete. The children will get plenty of notice when they need to bring spare copies to school. Our PE will be every Tuesday afternoon this year so please ensure the children are wearing their tracksuit on this day. It has been very difficult to choose Star of the Week as everybody has been working so diligently but congratulations to Sadie Burke who was our very first Star of the Week! Comhghairdeas to Dillon Carey who is our current Star of the Week!. The Clovers have been putting in their best efforts to get on our Wheel of Names with many people having won prizes already- keep up the great work everybody! I am looking forward to a great year ahead with the Clovers. All the best, Ms. Sheehan |
