Stars of the week, the panto, active advent calendar, putting up our Christmas tree and a visit from Santa! Enjoy!

Advent Calendar Challenge!

The Marigolds have been busy making the video below to get everyone in the Christmas spirit and keep us all active. Watch out for the freestyle part and show off your best moves.
We hope you enjoy it!
Hello everyone,
We have been very busy in the Marigolds and have settled in very well, all things considered. While we have been limited in some of the things that we can do, we have managed to enjoy an alternative Witch Walk, practice our money in Maths, coding with Beebots, entering art competitions and working on our Restorative Practice Strategies. We are so good at it we have transitioned to having RP Buddies on our yard and we will be excited to video what we are doing and share it with the rest of the school and teach the other classes. We have all been getting used to using Google Classroom, so check it regularly as I will be putting up links to things we have done in school. As we are not hosting face to face parent teacher meetings this side of Christmas, please make contact with me through the office if you want a short update on how your Marigold is getting on. Even if you have no concerns but would like to hear some positive feedback, let me know. I will post some more pictures before the Christmas holidays but I just wanted you all to know that each of these children is a credit to you in how well they have settled down and just got on with it!!
Keep up the great work!
Enjoy!!

Congratulations Marigolds! You are finished First Class TODAY :)

Well Done on all your hard work this year and particularly over the past 3 months, it has not been easy on you and your families engaging with school work from home, but you did it.

Thank you for a great year!

I have sent you all individual graduation certificates by email as a keepsake.

Enjoy the summer, and hopefully I will see you all at some stage in September.

Stay safe,

Ms. Kenny :)

Hello boys and girls,

I hope you are all keeping well! I cannot believe this is our last week of school and your last week of First Class.
It is a very strange way to end the school year and not what I had envisaged at all.

Thank you all for a wonderful year. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching you all. What a lovely class you are!!

I hope you are all enjoying the break from school work this week and  that you are taking the time to enjoy some active time with friends and family :)

Please feel free to send me some photos to post on our class blog for our last week of school :)

Ms. Kenny.

Layla says 'Hello' to all her classmates :)

Layla has been keeping really active and enjoying the recent good weather. Look at her visit to the Curragh with her family.
She is enjoying reading, practicing her guitar, scooting, biking, pool time etc.
Well done for keeping so active Layla! I see you also lost a front tooth since I last saw you. Hope the tooth fairy came :)

Sophie says 'Hello' to all her classmates :)
She was learning about how the farmers grow potatoes and barley at the weekend! Sophie also learned about turf and getting it home to use as fuel for the fire!
Great work Sophie:)

Hello Marigolds,

We only have a couple of weeks left and then we are finished school. I hope you are keeping busy and active at home. I know some of you are probably taking part in the 'baking challenge' and Brian's 'Fitness classe's this week!

If you would like to send me photographs to post on our lovely class page. I would be delighted to put them up. Looking forward to hearing from you. You could also write to me and let me know what your favourite memories of First class are.

Here are some of mine!
  • Welcoming you all into First class back in September. This was very exciting and enjoyable!
  • I really enjoyed playing in the playground with you all and observing you all having a great time on the new Astro Play Area.
  • Dressing up for Halloween and enjoying some treats from the Bake Sale.
  • Wood turning was great, remember our little addition to class, Joey!
  • The Christmas play was so enjoyable, I was so proud of all your hard-work and your participation.
  • Literacy Lift- Off, Guided Reading and Math Stations were very fun this year.
  • World Book Day was another highlight this year. It was great to see you all dressed as characters. What a fun day we had!
  • The Garda visit was another great informative day.
  • Our weekly talent time on Friday's when you all took some time to sing, dance or perform.
  • It was such a pleasure teaching you all from Sept to March and getting to know all your unique personality's. I had an amazing and enjoyable first year of teaching that I will always remember.
Thank you :)
