Christmas in SNU
Christmas is in full swing in SNU this week with a number of activities and events taking place.
Our JI, 1st, 3rd and 5th classes are busy preparing for their Christmas performance with a dress rehearsal for the rest of the school held on Tuesday. The show will be performed on Thursday 14th for parents of pupils in these classes and we look forward to a great show.
Our 6th classes have been busy donating food items and made three beautiful hampers which were donated to Newbridge Parish Share Food. These hampers were collected by Joe O'Brien on behalf of the Share Food group on Tuesday 12th. Well done to our 6th classes for this very kind gesture which will support local families in Newbridge.
A group of our 6th class pupils also participated in a charity Christmas singalong on Wednesday 13th in the Bank of Ireland to support the local charity, The Dining Room. They did us proud with a fantastic performance of Christmas songs for all the customers. Thank you to Ms Coyle for organising and Ms Corbally and Mr Locke for accompanying the group down town.
Finally another group of senior pupils from the choir will attend the KARE preschool Christmas party on Thursday 14th in Sarsfields to lend their beautiful voices to this festive occasion. This preschool was located in our building for a number of years and we continue to support them every year at this event. Thank you to all the staff and pupils for their time and voices.
Santa- Temple Street
There was great excitement as we welcomed a very special visitor to Scoil na Naomh Uilig yesterday, 5th December - Santa Claus!
He was accompanied by the Gardaí and they are on a very special trip this week, collecting money for sick children in Temple Street Children's Hospital, while also dropping into to visit lots of schools on the way.
He was given a fantastic welcome by all the children and staff and he even insisted that no homework was give!
Many thanks to our families and staff who kindly donated to Temple Street.
