About Us

Scoil na Naomh Uilig is located at Rickardstown, Newbridge, Co. Kildare. and is a fully-inclusive, co-educational school and operates proudly under the Catholic ethos.

Children of all abilities, including children with severe/ profound and moderate general learning disabilities, children with A.S.D., as well as gifted children are all valued members of the school community. Children from both our A.S.D. classes and our Severe and Profound classes are integrated wherever possible into their age-equivalent mainstream classroom.

The work of the school is underpinned by the school motto ‘Uile le Chéile’ – meaning ‘all together' and this permeates all aspects of school life.

We are extremely proud of the resources on offer to our pupils in Scoil na Naomh Uilig. Our building boasts of the latest teaching tools and impressive sporting facilities, including four basketball courts, an extensive play area and a recently installed Astro playing pitch. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard. Our school also has an outdoor playground, a sensory integration room, an inspiring library, an outdoor classroom, a vegetable patch and a kitchen/ science room, to name but a few of the facilities available within the school building and grounds.

Scoil na Naomh Uilig also has a state of the art and beautiful sensory garden, designed by landscaper Ken Eustace from Newbridge. The custom-built garden boasts a series of sensory and aesthetic features. Edible plants, flowers, logs, chimes, a bird house and stone pathway were designed for the stimulation of all senses and to facilitate the variety of learners we have within our school community. Our sensory garden truly provides a tranquil space at the heart of our vibrant school.
