End of the Year!
We have had a really fun Active Week this week. Now that the holidays are starting we can all take a break, relax and have lots of fun! We are all really looking forward to being in Senior Infants in September!
Check out a few more photos of what we got up to during the last couple of weeks:
8th-11th June 2020
We practiced our sounds and read some books on the Oxford Owl. We went on a summer walk and we used all our senses to explore the world around us.
We learnt about being safe in the water which is so important and we also learnt about perseverance. The boys and girls in the Foxgloves have shown lots of perseverance over the past few months and have worked so hard at home. Ms Mellett is so proud of them!!

We all enjoyed the gorgeous weather at the weekend- lots of us were having fun splashing about in our pools in the garden! Check out our photos to see our great work and the fun things we did this week.
25th- 28th MaY 2020
In our school work this week we learned lots of new things. In Maths, we learnt about ordering numbers correctly, finding which number goes before, between and after.
We revised our Jolly Phonics and practiced our word boxes and tricky words. We read some books online on the Oxford Owl website. We wrote out our news in cursive handwriting and learnt how to write the cursive letter 'h'. We have been doing lots and lots of practice with our handwriting and Ms Mellett can see that everyone is making big improvements! Well done boys and girls! In science we learnt about the life cycle of a butterfly and drew some lovely butterfly pictures.

We read some more books on the Oxford Owl and in Maths we learnt about the days of the week and about which days make up the week and which make up the weekend. We also learnt all about the number zero in Maths. We told our families all about school, our classroom and our classmates. We drew some lovely drawings of room 2 and we put in so many great details in our drawings. Ms. Mellett was so impressed!
We played in the beautiful sunshine this week and got lots of fresh air and exercise. Lots of the boys and girls played with and minded their little siblings, we are really good big brothers and sisters!
11th-14th May 2020
We learnt how to write the letter 'b' in cursive handwriting and practiced our word boxes and our tricky words.
We read some books on the Oxford Owl website and in Maths we learnt about capacity and we went back over number 5. We found some lovely sets of 5 when we were out for a walk! We also learnt about the orchestra and musical instruments in Music.
We did other fun things with our families too like art and going to the park. Some of us even had a social distancing playdate with our pals! Ms Mellett really misses seeing all the boys and girls everyday but she is so proud of them for working so hard and adapting so well to this new set up.
4th- 8th of May 2020
The children did other activities with their families like going for walks, cycling our bikes, art, gardening, baking, playing board games and having BBQs!
