This week we have been busy learning about money. As a way of getting used to recognising coins and calculating change we decided to set up our own mini shops. Children priced some of their belongings and patiently awaited some customers. This was a great way to practice scenarios that will happen in real life when we go to the shop to spend some pocket money.

Today we had lots of fun exploring magnets and seeing what materials in our environment are magnetic. We discovered that materials such as wood and plastic are not magnetic but metal is. We than created our own paper racing car and stuck a paper clip to it. We placed it onto a piece of paper and using the magnet under the piece of paper we had a race. Have a look at our pictures.

We had lots of fun playing three in a row which involved rolling a dice twice, adding or taking away the two numbers together and then placing a counter down on the page if the number was there. This was a great way of practicing our addition and subtraction.
