5th class became engineers for a day by creating an exciting experiment entitled 'Stable On the Table'. Using just toothpicks and marshmallows, their task was to build a structure more than two stories tall and see how high they could go with it without it collapsing. They discovered the effects of reinforcing their structures with extra tootpicks and had super fun creating buildings that they named themselves. We had a many interesting establishments including a football stadium, a stable and even a mancave! Then came the moment of truth....to investigate whether their structures would remain 'stable on the table' once the table was shaken. With many hammering fists and much excited noise in room43, they soon saw their results. To the delight of most groups, their buildings remained entact and upright. A whole lot of work and a whole lot of fun!
