For Art this week we were talking about mono-printing and so we decided to make our own wrapping paper with Christmas approaching. We used recycled toilet roll holders to create various shaped stamps. We then mixed the primary colours to create secondary colours and stamped onto plain brown wrapping paper. We finished our projects with a sprinkle of glitter. Take a look!

We had our first guitar lesson with Don today. He taught us to play "Frere Jacques", "Kerry Polka" "A Horse with no Name" and also "Maggie's Reel". We are really looking forward to more lessons after Christmas.
In Science we have been learning the difference between absorbent and waterproof materials. We have also learned about buoyancy and decided to test our skills by building rafts in our groups. We had great fun racing our rafts and discovering which raft design was most effective!
4th Class will begin learning guitar on the 25th November. We cannot wait! After Christmas when we have learned to play some tunes we will do a show in the hall for everybody.
To celebrate Science week the children in the Violets have been researching cool scientific facts for our classroom display. We are looking forward to working in groups later in the week on STEM experiments.
