Hello everyone.
Some more great examples of work sent in by children from the Oaks class this week. In English we wrote stories about camping trips and some people even included some lovely pictures from trips they have been on. There are some examples of Irish sentences the children wrote and also of the work on Time we did in Maths this week. In SESE we learned about Nano Nagle. Sandhiya had a great connection and told us of how her mother had worked in an organisation founded by Nano Nagle when she lived in Kodaikanal, TamilNadu, India. She also sent us a picture with the following message; "I am happy to show you my photo with Presentation Sister, Sr.Margaret Power, who is the Principal of 'Church Park Convent, Chennai, TamilNadu, India'. She visited us in 2013, when she came to Ireland to visit her family." Thanks so much for sharing that great link with us and make sure to check out this and all of the pictures below. Enjoy your weekends, Mr. Lalor The great work continued this week and last with all of the children in the Oaks classroom putting in a huge effort while they continue to work at home.
English work focused on a story about an airship trip. The children read the piece and responded by writing about their own trips and newspaper articles about the disaster also. They wrote poems about things which fly as we concluded our work in the month of April on poetry. This week we have focused on persuasive writing. In Maths we have introduced two new topics Area and 3-D shapes. The children have been working hard and producing some great work in these areas which can be seen below. We also have some samples of work from what we learned about maps in SESE and in Art about Frank Stella and his use of geometric shapes. Keep up the good work everyone! |
