Irish Dancing4Fun

The children in 4th, 5th and 6th class took part in Irish Dancing4Fun with Ms. Curran and Ms. Hennessy throughout the school year.

Irish Dancing4Fun is a new initiative in the school and it is our upmost aim to promote Irish dancing in the school as a fun and enjoyable activity!

We practice on Monday evenings after school from 2:30 to 3:30pm.

We usually permorfm a 6 minute performance for assembly to the well known song 'Tell Me Ma'. The teachers and children really enjoyed coming up with this fun and energetic routine and they loved performing in front of the whole school!

Here are some pictures from our Irish dancing in Scoil Na Naomh Uilig.

10@10-OPERATION TRANSFORMATION

10@10
As part of our Active School Flag Initiative in the school, we took part in Operation Transformation’s –10@10 Activity – 10 minutes of exercise on the 10th of February at 10am.

The children had great fun exercising and we will be encouraging children to try these exercises at home and in school over the school year. Here are a few pictures from our 10@10 Assemblies throughout the year and 10@10 in our classrooms.

Active Leaders - Break and Lunch times:

Children that are on our Active Flag committee are designated to be active leaders in the lines at small break and lunch times.
The children stand at the front of the line and demonstrate exercises - e.g Jumping jacks, running on the spot.
This gets the children active when the children are waiting in their lines for their teacher after the bell rings.
