Lá Glas: we raised €614 on our Lá Glas, to purchase a gazebo for The Dining Room, a worthy cause in the Newbridge area which provides hot food to the homeless, those in emergency accomodation and those struggling in their homes. Thank you to everyone for your generosity.

Easter Cake Sale
Our Easter Cake sale will take place on Wednesday 5th April from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Parents are asked to bake buns/cakes and bring them to the small hall through the side entrance in the school. Parents are welcome to drop into the cake sale between 9.30-12.30pm. Don’t forget to give you child money to purchase cakes too! Please also put you child’s name on the container and remind them to collect it at the end of the day before going home.
Mobile Phones: IMPORTANT Reminder that children will not be permitted to bring mobile phones to school after Easter without prior agreement with the Principal including a meeting and signed agreement. In the meantime phones will be confiscated from any pupil using them during school hours.

School Uniform Sale
The School Uniform Sale will take place in the school on Tuesday and Wednesday 9th and 10th of May from 12.00noon to 4pm. All items will be 10% less than the shop price on those dates.

Active Schools Week
As part of our bid to receive our active flag award we will be running an active week next Monday 3rd – 7th April .
Here are a few things that will be happening next week
Tracksuits all week so pupils can participate in the events happening.
NO WRITTEN HOMEWORK – pupils will be asked instead to log an active activity every evening in place of their normal homework.
Sports Day – On Monday (Weather permitting) the pupils will participate in our annual sports day.
Guest Speakers – sports stars from around the local community and county will talk to the pupils about playing sport and the importance of being active.
Active assembly – As a whole school on Friday we will participate in an active assembly.
1k walk – Pupils will partake in a 1k walk at 11am on Thursday 6th
Penalties for Parents- On Thursday after our 1 k walk parents are invited to partake in penalties for parents, where the pupils will take penalties on the parents and parents will take penalties on the pupils (basketball and soccer) in a designated area in the school.
Areas for penalties:
Junior Infants – soccer penalties – school pitch
Senior Infants – soccer penalties – school pitch
First class – basketball – basketball court 1
Second class – basketball – basketball court 2
Third class – basketball – basketball court 3
Fourth class – basketball – basketball court 4
Fifth class – soccer penalties – hotspurs pitch
Sixth class – soccer penalties – hotspurs pitch
