New Board of Management
Our new Board of Management will be in place and taking over the reins from 1st December. We held our last meeting of the current Board last night and I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank the outgoing Board members for their contribution, their support and commitment to Scoil na Naomh Uilig over the last number of years. In a special way I would like to acknowledge the contribution of Vincent O’Reilly as Treasurer, , Grace Goulding as teacher nominee, our community representatives and our parents nominees. Our outgoing Chairperson, Seamus Mullooly has been with us since the inception of the school. It has been through his coaching and guidance that we have the highest calibre of staff to develop our unique and inclusive model of education. The whole school community owes him a huge debt of gratitude and wish him many years of good health and happiness.
Junior Infant Applications for school year 2020/2021 are now open.
Please note that if you have a child starting school next September go to the Parish Office and fill out the application form indicating Scoil na Naomh Uilig as your choice of school.
CLOSING DATE 18th December.
Pupil Absenteeism/ Aladdin: The daily roll call takes place at 10am each day and if your child is absent you will automatically receive a notification through Aladdin advising you of this. Please respond to this message with your child’s reason for absence. This is adequate notification for the school and it is not necessary to advise the school by phone or letter. Many thanks.
Student Profile updates on Aladdin: Changes to family details such as: telephone numbers, addresses or childminder details can be made by parents/guardians.
As Aladdin is our main database, significant changes, i.e. deleting parents or blocking access of your child’s parent/guardian on Aladdin, need to be advised to the school by way of written request with supporting documentation.
Swimming tomorrow for Ms Sheehan’s 4th class and Mr O’Toole’s 3rd Class. Please ensure your child has their swimming gear with them. Many thanks.
Shoe Box Appeal Thank you to everyone who participated in the Shoe Box Appeal. Your support, generosity and participation in this initiative is very much appreciated.
Santa visiting the school!! Santa is visiting the school on Wednesday 4th December. He will arrive here in his sleigh and all the children will get to see him. To mark the occasion we are holding a Civvies Day/Christmas jumper day on 4th December. Children can bring €2 with them to school on that day. Monies raised will be donated to Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
Our annual Christmas Performance/Show will take place on Monday 16th December at 9.15am in the main hall. As only Junior Infants, 1st, 3rd and 5th classes take part in the performance, only parents of these classes are invited. This ensures there is enough space for all. Teachers will be in contact regarding what to wear etc over the next few weeks.
There will be NO rehearsals for the Musical on Thursday next 28th due to parent/teacher meetings.
We will be holding a Book Fair in the big hall in the school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week.
On Wednesday and Thursday next week, your child will be brought by their teacher to browse the books during school time and the Parents Association will be available to sell to parents between 1.30pm - 4pm on both days.
If you are unavailable to attend the Book Fair yourself on either of those days, the children will have another opportunity to go with their class teacher on the Friday and can purchase a book at this time. We would ask that they have some idea of how much the book costs so that they don't carry large amounts of cash with them.
Thank you for your co-operation with the above.
