Christmas Carol Service: We are having our annual Christmas Carol Service on Wednesday next 18th December.
Please be reminded that For health & safety purposes, unfortunately, there is no room for parents to attend this year.
The Parents Association and the Board of Management are invited to represent the school community. Children are welcome to wear Christmas jumpers/Santa hats or some item of festive clothing.
Christmas Plays will take place on Monday next 16th December at 9.15am in the main hall. As only Junior Infants, 1st, 3rd and 5th classes take part in the performance, only parents of these classes are invited to attend This ensures there is enough space for all. Children are welcome to wear Christmas jumpers/Santa hats or some item of festive clothing and should come into school already dressed in it.
The last whole cast rehearsal before Christmas, for the School Musical, takes place after school today and the final group rehearsals will take place on Monday.
ONGOING WORKS
I would really like to thank people for walking your children into the school during the current ongoing work and I am delighted to inform you all that the Astro Play Area will be fully installed and the work finished by the time children return after the Christmas break.
We will then be returning to our old arrangements in the yard at school drop-off and collection times as follows:
- Only Parents of children with special needs, who have parking permits, have permission to park at the set down area in front of the school
- mainstream children travelling to school by car to be dropped off in front of the sports hall in the mornings.
- We would really like to encourage as many people as possible to continue to walk your children in and out of the school in the mornings and at collection times
BAG2SCHOOL
Dear Parent/Guardian,
The Parents Association is running a clothing collection in January in conjunction with Bag2School Ireland.
By getting involved in our Bag2School collection you have an opportunity to sort through your wardrobes and donate any unwanted textiles in the bag provided.
This can include adult and children’s clothes, shoes (tied together please), hats, belts, bags and teddies.
Please NO Duvets, Pillows, Curtains, Bedding, Towels or End-Of-Life Clothing
In addition it will raise awareness amongst the children of the benefits of recycling and reuse.
Bags will be distributed to each child next week and should be brought back to school on Tuesday 14th January or Wednesday 15th January 2020. Please try to fill as many bags as you can, don’t forget to ask grandparents, friends and neighbours to have a sort out as well! You can return clothes in any kind of bag.
Many thanks for helping us with this unique fundraising opportunity!
Thank you for your co-operation with the above.
