Magic of the Musicals
What a wow of a show last night!!
It thrilled all those who were present and was a wonderful display of musical talent and teamwork on stage by the Scoil na Naomh Uilig pupils. It was a fabulous showcase for them!
Ms Coyle and her production team put in many hours of hard work to produce a wonderful show and the results were clearly evident last night So many other people from the school community were working hard in the background helping to make the musical the first class production that it is.
Well done to everyone involved, you must feel very proud!!!
I am sure tonight’s show will be just as amazing and good luck to everyone!!
SCHOOL CLOSURE
We have been approved by the Department of Education to get sustained support in relation to the changes to the Primary Language Curriculum and this results in a school closure for the children
The school will be CLOSED FOR THE CHILDREN on WEDNESDAY 25TH MARCH SCHOOL to facilitate training for teachers.
There will be a further 1 day school closure for the children in the last school term.
Exact details to follow.
There is no Swimming lessons tomorrow February 14th. Thank you.
World Book Day is the 5th of March- We would love the children to dress as their favourite book character from their favourite book and to bring in their book to share with the classmates.
This year, to celebrate World Book Day we will have SNU Book Buddies taking place in a number of classrooms. Children from our senior classes will be sharing and reading much-loved books with the children in the junior classes. As part of the dress-up day on the 5th March there is going to be a fundraiser for Jake Dobbyn’s wheelchair sports club - Lilywhite Wheelers. The children are asked to bring in €1/€2 as a donation to his club.
We are looking forward to a great day!
Fitbits / Smartwatches
There has been a notable increase in the number of children wearing fitbits and smartwatches to school and it has caused some consternation when they have misplaced or lost their devices. More concerning there are privacy concerns attached to having digital devices in the school and it has therefore been decided that children are not allowed to bring them to school.
School Nurse
We are delighted to announce that we have a newly appointed Nurse who will be starting with us on our return from mid-term on February 24th . We welcome Nurse Tina and wish her many years of happiness amongst us.
We also remember Triona and again wish her many years of good health in her retirement.
Seachtain na Gaeilge will be happening the week of the 9th -13th of March
Thursday Note and school information also available on Aladdin App.
Thank you for your co-operation with the above.
