Reminder!! - June Bank Holiday – the school will be closed on Tuesday 5th June.
Swimming starts for Miss Kelly’s 3rd and Mr O’Toole’s 3rd classes tomorrow Friday 18th May. The cost of the swimming for your child is €25 for 5 sessions, which includes transport. This amount must be paid in full. If you have difficulty with payment please contact the office.
First Holy Communion our 2nd class pupils will be making their First Holy Communion this coming Saturday 19th May. The official class photo will be taken in the church on Saturday. This is a very special day for all of our 2nd class children and we hope the sun shines and they have a lovely day.
Flag Raising Ceremony:
We are delighted and very proud to have been awarded our Active School Flag.
We will be celebrating with the children in the school by having our Flag raising ceremony on Wednesday next May 23rd . We are privileged to have the Army No. 1 band in attendance to help us celebrate the occasion!
Junior Infant Immunisation
The Junior Infants Classes will receive their, 4 in 1, and their MMR vaccinations on Wednesday next 23rd May. If you have not already returned your child’s consent form to their teacher, please do so asap. Any children for whom we do not receive a consent form, will not avail of immunisation next week.
A Second Hand Uniform Sale will take place in June -this initiative is an opportunity to enable parents dress their children for school at a reduced cost. Donations of good quality school uniforms/tracksuits are required and can be left into the school during the school day.
External Summer Camps
Our hall is rented by external organisations for various summer camps over the summer as follows: Summer Sports Camp and 'Be Creative' Camp both running from 2nd - 6th July and are run by teachers within the school. They are however both run seperately from each other; 9th – 20th July Lenny’s Basketball Camp; Stage Academy 23rd July – 3rd August; StarCamp 23rd – 27th July These camps are not run by the school and full details can be found below. The school office cannot deal with any enquiries regarding these external activities. Please contact them directly.
Supporting your Child to Build Healthy Friendships and Relationships
We would like to invite all parents to an Information Talk called ‘Supporting your Child to Build Healthy Friendships and Relationships’ on Thursday 7th June at 7pm- 9.30pm in our school hall.
This talk is hosted by the National Parents Council and is funded by our school. It will deal with various topics including;
- Relationships and Sexuality Education
- Building Self-esteem
- The media and ourselves
- The Process of Change-Psychical and psychological changes at puberty
- The language to use:- parents explore the complexities of language in regards to sexuality
- Parents & school
We would like to encourage as many parents as possible to attend. Please sign the slip below and return to your child’s class teacher at your earliest convenience. Tea/ coffee will be provided will be provided on the night.

Runs from July 2nd - 6th. 9.30am - 1.00pm. ‘Be Creative’ summer camp includes art, craft, music and drama games, science experiments etc.
The children are asked to bring a packed lunch (small and big break) and to wear runners and tracksuit.
This camp is separate to the Sports Camp which is taking place on the same week. Deposits are non-transferable and non-refundable.
