It is with great sadness that I wish to inform you of the death of Brother Pat O’Neill RIP.
Brother Pat was a valued member of our staff for 11 years. During those years he volunteered his expertise, care and knowledge free of charge. His approach embodied "Uile le Chèile "and his contribution has left a lasting legacy to Scoil na Naomh Uilig.

3rd Class swimming lessons continues in Spin on Thursdays for another 2 lessons.
School Reports
This year the school reports will be made available on the Aladdin App to parents/guardians on June 18th. In order to receive your child’s school report please ensure you have the Aladdin App downloaded on your mobile phone. For this year only if you wish to receive your child’s report by post you need to send in a self-addressed stamped envelope to the class teacher.
Sports Day
We will be having our annual Sports Day on Wednesday 29th May, Children to wear tracksuit/t-shirt & shorts and extra fluids packed. Apply sun lotion in the morning before coming to school if necessary!!!
Mobile Phones Please note that children are not permitted to bring their mobile phones into school.
In exceptional circumstances if your child needs their phone, written permission must be sought, in advance, by parents / guardians and the phone must be handed into the school office for the day.
First Holy Communion
Congratulations and well done to the children in 2nd class who made their 1st Holy Communion last weekend.
Football, hurling and camogie has ceased for the school year. There was a big drop-off in players over the course of the year and we would ask parents to encourage children to play one of the sports that the school offers next year
Civvies Day Fundraiser: Sarsfields U14 girls team were successful in winning the County Kildare Féile. The team have now qualified for the national competition, In support of them we are holding a non-uniform day. Children are asked to make a donation to wear their civvies on Friday next 31st May. Thank you.
Pupil Numbers for classes in Scoil na Naomh Uilig for next year.
At the moment we are organising our classes & teachers for next year. Teaching jobs are sanctioned by the Department of Education based on the pupil population. It is very important to us and we work very hard to retain our pupils. Therefore, we would appreciate it if you could give us plenty of advance notice if you are planning to move from this area.
A Second Hand Uniform Sale/Swop will take place on 19th and 20th June – this initiative is an opportunity to enable parents dress their children for school at a reduced cost. Sale/Swap on 19th and 20th June from 1pm – 3pm facilitated by the PA. More details will follow.
Donations of good quality school uniforms/tracksuits are required and can be left into the school during the school day.
JUNEFEST - YARNBOMB: The Linear Park in Newbridge is always beautifully adorned with hand-knitted pieces for Junefest each year. Once again Scoil na Naomh Uilig will have a tree decorated with pieces handknitted by members of our school community. If you get an opportunity to take a walk there please keep an eye out for our tree!!!
GP AND BOOK RENTAL FEE
General Purpose and Book Rental Fee for 2019/2020 can now be paid online through the Aladdin app. The charge is as follows:
1 child €80
2 children €150
3 or more children €200
the Book Rental portion of the charge is used for the purchasing of books and equipment and the remainder of the GP charge covers 24 hour insurance, school journal, photocopying, folders, art materials, paper, charts, library books, crayons and colouring pencils, white boards, handwriting books, gymnastics, guitar, dance, safe cycling lessons, as well as the provision of laptops and iPads for the children.
NOTE: School will reopen after the summer holidays on
