Hi everyone, I hope you are all keeping well. Keep up the great work you are still doing at home and a big High 5 to all the Mam's and Dad's who have had to juggle so much in the last few months. It's not been easy to say the least! I hope all the Shamrocks are ready to give one last effort over the next two weeks and then we can relax and enjoy the summer.
Natan has sent on some pictures of what he's been up to. I hope he sends that baking challenge to the Student Council and I hope the Tooth Fairy came. He is missing playing with everyone and being able to chat to everyone. Hopefully Natan we will all see each other soon! Exciting news everyone! Our tadpoles have grown up and are almost fully grown frogs!! Some still have their tails, others are fully formed frogs but still tiny. I won't release them until they are big and strong and able to fend for themselves in the wild. They are really hard to photograph now as they keep hopping away!! I did get these snaps though so I hope you enjoy them.
Ps- as we near the end of the school year if anyone wants to make a message that they want to share with the class, please send it on and I will post it up here. Hello to all the Shamrocks!! I hope you all had a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend...the weather was brilliant, wasn't it? So now we have returned to our 'normal' Irish weather I'm going to ask you all to make one last big effort to keep up with some school work and activities for the last few weeks. Everyone is working to the best that they can and I'm very proud of you all for doing what you can. Remember Mam's and Dad's still need you to help around the house, mind your siblings and to be kind and patient. Ali and Mila sent on some photos of what they have been up to..check them out below. Ali did a Family School Tour. She walked up the Hill of Allen and learned about its connection with Fionn Mac Cumhail and Na Fianna. She also did a walk along the canal in Milltown and went fishing in the Liffey in The Linear Park – Don’t worry she put him back….! Mila made a fantastic playground for her dolls..It looks like great fun!
Harini and her sisters say Hi to everyone, Harini has made some beautiful Art. Ali's uncle has a new baby foal! His name is Spark. Thanks for showing him to us Ali! Hi Ms Cluxton,
Amelia here. I would like to show you all what I have been up to over the days. I used water colours, I made donuts (with help from my brother), I made my own T-shirt, and I read some more Tom Gates! I got a new skipping rope, I made a special flower for my mom, I painted, I made tiny food, and did my homework. Hello everyone. Some exciting news....some of our tadpoles have started to grow legs! Thanks to Mia for naming one of them Splash. Jelly and Frog Hopper were named by Lilí and Fionn. Their back legs grow first, see if you can spot them.
Also some of our classmates have been really busy- Megan celebrated her 8th birthday,Mila drew this cool picture of Liam Neeson for the Art Competition, Ryan created a funny comic strip about Big Foot and Jewel researched some great facts about peacocks and used lovely cursive writing and found a peacock feather! I wonder does she have a pet peacock at home? Enjoy! Hello to all the Shamrocks! Just a little note to say that I am really sad that we won't be back in our classroom before September. We have had some great times in Room 19 and I don't know what September will bring. You have all been amazing, adapting to having to work at home, sharing devices and work spaces with your family. It is so hard not to be able to see you in person but your pictures and messages bring a smile to my face every time. Now don't tell the other second classes that I said this, but you are the best second class in the school!! I know that you will keep up with your school work and keep in contact with me. We still have another two months to go and we can take a break in July and August. So keep up the great work and be kind to your family too. Even though we are not working in the classroom with our school rules to guide us, use those rules at home, especially 'Be fair, be friendly' and most importantly ' Always do your best'. I hope that you use this time to develop some independent work skills and help out at home. Keep in safe contact with any elderly people you know and remember our School Motto- Uile le Chéile- All Together!
Hi, my friends I miss you so much. Hope youhave a great day and you're staying safe. Ever wondered how to make a rose out of play dough well here is the right place. 1. Mould the play dough to make it very soft. 2. Cut the dough into 4 5 6 or 7 at least. Join them together 3. Carefully roll them to make a rose shape. 4. Open up the pedals carefully to open up the flower. And that is how to make a rose out of playdough only 4 steps and done. Easy. Bye and thanks Esther Ryan made a fantastic May Day Poster Jewel kept active last week....mind your head Jewel!
Hi everyone, hope you are all dodging the showers and enjoying the first day of Summer. Marcel has been so active this week, see what else he's been up to. Mia wrote a wonderful May Day poem and has named one of the tadpoles Splash! Ali drew a beautiful May Day tree and wrote a fabulous poem. Lennon says Hi and spent a lot of time writing and creating his May Day Poem, the results speak for themselves! If you have any other pictures of May Day poems, trees, art decorations send them on. Have a great bank holiday weekend! A May Day Poem by Lennon Jude Maguire, Mayday is the day to go outside and play, While we look forward to the Summer we will dance and sing, With our ribbons around the May pole we do not worry about a thing, The sun is in the sky and the bees fly by, The flowers are all blooming, pigs are happy in their sty, Everyone loves summer, especially this guy. Ali's work: Mia's Poem: Hi again! So every year, as we know, tadpoles hatch from frogspawn. Before the lockdown, I had been busy trying to find frogspawn to show you but to no avail! Now, frogs, tadpoles and frogspawn are all protected creatures and it is illegal to remove them from the wild, except for teachers. We are allowed to take a small sample to show our classes. So, yesterday a good friend of mine told me where she had seen tadpoles and luckily it was within 2km of my house! I set off with a jam jar and net and brought a small sample home. I set up a new home for the tadpoles using a plastic container, some rocks for shelter and some water and grass/moss from the river. The tadpoles have settled in very well. They are at the stage now where their tails have grown but there is no sign of their legs yet. At this stage they still have gills to breathe under water. As they get bigger they develop lungs to let them breathe on land. As they develop more I will post more pictures. There are about 20 of them so if anyone would like to suggest some names for them, please send them on.
Hello everyone, just a short note to show you some starling eggs I found in the garden. Also I have started thinking about how to decorate my May tree, here are some ideas
Hi everyone, hope you had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend. Mia has written a lovely poem that she would like to share with you!
Hi. It’s me again. if you wanna make a skittles rainbow experiment here is how you do it.
You will need: skittles, water and a plate with sides so the water wont spill. First arrange the skittles around the sides then pour in the water and wait (this might take a minute) and after you can still eat the skittles! Enjoy! From Amelia |
