Over the last two weeks the children in Senior Infants have been learning to play the Bodhrán. We have been learning to play a gig and a reel using the Bodhrán. It has been great fun :)
Our theme this week in Aistear is houses and homes. As part of this, we looked at the homes of the three little pigs and decided to make straw, stick and brick houses from shoe boxes, toilet rolls, paper etc. Here are a few pics :)
In October our two Aistear themes have been the construction site and the fire station. Here are a few pics :)
Tracksuit days for the shamrocks this year is on Thursday and Friday.
We have been learning all about The Bakery in Aistear. We all had a chance to put our chef's hat on and mix ingredients in our role play area and sell cakes to customers. We also made Gingerbread Men at our creative station and even made cupcakes! We had lots of fun making them but even more fun eating them!
The Shamrocks had so much fun during Active Schools Week! We had an Easter Egg Hunt, we had an active assembly and, best of all, we had our Sports Day. Have a look at our photos!
We have been so busy here in The Shamrocks since returning to school after our lovely midterm break. We have been learning all about Spring and The Farm and the different animals and plants we see during this time.
We also know how to combine numbers to make other numbers. Did you know that 2 and 2 makes 4 but 1 and 3 also makes 4? Maths is great fun!
We also made pancakes, watched our chicks hatch and dressed up for World Book Day!
This week we've been learning all about the wind in Room 2. We know that wind is just air that's moving. We also learned a song called Blow Wind, Blow. We learned even more when we went outside on this windy day and used all of our senses to experience the wind in full. It was lots of fun!
