I have a message from our lovely classmate Leon. Sadly, he will be moving to Poland this summer with his family, to a new house and a new school! We will miss you so much in our class Leon and we wish you all the best in your new school and on your big adventure in Poland! We hope you will make lots of new friends and have so much fun there! Love, Ms. McDermott and The Lillies xx A message from Leon: Hello my '' Lillies '' I wanted to tell you that in a week I will be coming back to Poland with my parents and sister and I will continue my school there. I'm glad but I'm sorry that I couldn't say goodbye to you all because of the virus, the school is closed and we can't see each other. I want to thank you for all the nice moments and fun at school. I had a great time with you all. I would especially like to thank Ms Glendon, Ms McDermott and Principal Ms. Duggan. Thank you for your kind words, help and support. Because of you I really liked school and education. I will always keep all of you in my memory and heart. I miss you all and send hugs, Leon. The boys and girls have been continuing on with their amazing work but all of us really enjoyed the long weekend and the beautiful sunshine! (Can you remember the song we used to sing to ask the sun to come out- Mr. Sun, sun, Mr. Golden Sun.. Won't you please shine down on me?!)
I have included some lovely photos of our classmates having fun at home! I know some people are getting a little bit tired of doing work at home. It is hard, especially when you can't see all of your friends, (Grace's little brother has even started eating her homework!) but Senior Infants is almost over so keep up the hard work and keep trying your best guys! It will be Summer time soon! Ms. McDermott xx This week in The Lillies, the boys and girls were working so hard!
We have been learning all about MONEY in Maths. We have been learning about the different coins, how to count them, how much things cost, and some people were playing 'The Shop' at home! The weather has been so lovely, so we have been outside playing in the sunshine too, as well as learning and doing our school work! I miss you all so much, and can't wait to see you again soon guys! I love getting your messages and seeing photographs of what you are doing at home. Teacher sends you a BIG HUG! Ms. Mc Dermott xx Hello everyone! I hope you are all well and had a good week at home! I know you are missing school and missing your friends, but maybe you will see some photos of them here on the class blog and it will make you smile!
I am so impressed by the work you are all doing at home. The learning you did this week was amazing! In 'The Lillies' this week we started to learn about clocks and how to tell the time! We also learned more about African Animals and lots of you made beautiful artwork of an African Sunset. We made 3D Jungles and some people made their own clocks to practice telling the time. You are all so clever and I am so proud of you guys! Ms. Mc Dermott xx Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a nice week and you are enjoying the gorgeous weather.
So far, in the month of May we have been learning about Africa, the Jungle and all of the beautiful animals who live there! Some of you made cool African Tribal masks for art. We are also learning about how May is the month of Mary. You have all been learning the Days of the Week! I have received so many pictures of AMAZING cursive writing and I am hearing lots of good news about people doing reading every day. Keep up the hard work boys & girls! I miss you all so much and I am really enjoying getting updates of what you are up to at home. You are showing me how clever and brave you are, as well as making the best of this time to learn in new ways and make memories with your family, which is wonderful. I want to hear more each week about how you are getting on, if you are finding anything difficult and if you have any news for me, so make sure to keep me updated! Ms. McDermott xx Well done to all of you boys & girls who have been working so hard and trying your best every day at home! In April, you learned about lots of new things by doing your school work at home, with the help of your Mammies and Daddies.
We learned about plants and gardening, and how things grow! We also learned about the Life Cycle of the Frog. In Maths, we learned about 3-D Shapes and lots of people found 3D shapes around their house and built a 3D shape robot! Lots of you got much better at your cursive handwriting and did lots of reading and extra maths too. Keep up the great work guys! You are making teacher so happy every day! The boys and girls in The Lillies, Room 10 are working so hard at home with their parents over the past few weeks. We would like to remind everyone to Stay at Home! By staying at home, you are staying safe and you are also keeping other people safe too by stopping the spread of the virus.
Well Done boys & girls. Ms. McDermott is so proud of you and I miss you all! The children have been learning ALL about the number 10! You can see them here using concrete materials (bears!) to make groups which add up to 10 altogether.
We have also been singing the rhyme '10 Green Bottles' and '10 Little Monkeys, Jumping on the Bed!' |
