To celebrate St Brigid's Day, we got to visit St Brigid's Cathedral off Market Square in Kildare Town. We had a great day and the highlight for most of us was climbing the tower which stands at 108ft tall! It was a bit scary but the view at the top was worth it! Our tour guide Brenda brought us around the inside of the Cathedral and we learned a lot of interesting facts, like the fact that one of the side walls on the altar leans in as a mark of respect to Jesus on the cross. We also got to stand in St Brigid's fire pit and explore around the cemetary. We calculated that the oldest grave was 404yrs old!
