Welcome back! We are really looking forward to a positive year ahead and preparing for secondary school. Here's to a great school year!
We had a super time in the run up to Christmas in the Elms. It was our turn to take part in the Christmas show. We performed a Rap, sang and played tin whistle for a packed hall of parents. Santa arrived in style to say hello to all the boys and girls, and we also made some fabulous Christmas decorations, had a Hot Chocolate Challenge and created and customised some festive Gingerbread Christmas trees! Delish!
Have a look at our lovely classroom and a sample of our amazing work that we have completed this year! We have undertaken science projects, created some fabulous art and worked on some very cool maths activities!
In September, we had a wonderful day out to the Curragh Racecourse. It was so much fun and so educational. We learned about a day in the life of a Jockey, how to make a horseshoe from the resident expert and we even got to have a walk on the course and learn how the horses are trained and ridden! We got to meet some very knowledgable staff and trainers and received our own freshly made horshshoe and giftbags to take home. We thoroughly enjoyed and were grateful for the experience!
Some of our amazing costumes from this year's Halloween celebrations in SNU. We had a ball on our annual Witch Walk scaring all the parents!
End of Year 2018
It's hard to believe we're almost at the end of third class. Here's a glimpse of some of the things that The Elms got up to this year.
We've had a busy term one in Third Class with the school's anniversary, the science exhibition in the library, Santa, snow and the Christmas concert. Not to mention all the schoolwork! Have a look at out pictures so far this year.
