Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I can't wait to see what you got up to. I'm also delighted to see that so many of you completed the time capsule last week.

2nd class have shown great resilience this year as they have faced many obstacles and have adapted quickly to a very unusual and confusing situation due to Covid 19. Although many of our class must wait until it is safe before they can make their First Confession and then their First Communion, lots of you still decided to mark the occasion at home with your families. I am so proud of everyone for making the most of your time at home and I promise you that your Communion Day will be twice as special when it finally happens.

I hope you all enjoy the activities this week. Have a look at what our class are up to in the photos below. Feel free to send me any photos you would like to share with your classmates at r20mshassett@snu.ie.

Stay safe,
Ms Hassett

See what your classmates are up to this week
Adrian says hello!
Adrian wants to say hi to everyone in the Daisies. He is missing everyone very much but likes seeing all the pictures and news on the blog. Adrian misses school but he doesn't miss getting up early so he is enjoying having a lie in some mornings. He has been very busy at home doing his Jolly Grammar and some other activities. Adrian has been working hard on practicing his reading at home. So far he has read 6 of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and has also read other books like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Well done Adrian, that is super that you are reading so much! I can see that you are also keeping up your drawing and colouring at home! It's lovely to see that smile, I hope you will share more news with us soon! :) We all miss you very much and we can't wait to see you again!

Sweta has been busy at home this week keeping up to date with all of her work. Sweta also wants to show her friends the scones she made. They look amazing, I'm sure they tasted delicious! She was very kind and gave us her recipe to try the scones ourselves. Thank you so much Sweta. We have some very talented bakers and chefs in the Daisies, I have no doubt someone will try your recipe. :)

Lexi
Lexi wanted to show everyone her favourite activities from this week. She did a fantastic job on her bee factfile and has presented it in a very creative way. Well done Lexi, I can see lots of interesting information about bees there! Lexi also enjoyed designing and creating her own playground using materials from home. She got some help from her sister to create red papier-mâché chairs, which look great. Finally Lexi enjoyed the 'Think Outside the Box' Challenge. Well done for a great week Lexi, thanks for keeping us updated on your activities.! :)

Yacouba
Yacouba has done an amazing job on his STEM challenge for this week, which is to design and create your ideal playground using materials from home. I am so impressed with this design Yacouba, I really like how you used different materials for each piece of equipment and it looks like your Duplo figures has a great time testing it out. Yacouba also enjoyed learning about bees and has presented his facts very neatly. To cool down in the sun and get rid of some energy, he enjoyed playing with water guns outside with his brothers and drawing on the wall with water. Yacouba is also enjoying reading books on Oxford Owls and worked hard at finding words from his Jolly Grammar activity in the dictionary. Well done Yacouba for another great week!

Well done! :) Ciara tried on her communion dress at the weekend to show her cousin and she can't wait to celebrate making her First Communion with her friends when it is safe. Thanks for telling us your news Ciara, keep us updated! :)

Lexi
Although Lexi was disappointed about her Communion being postponed, she decided to make the most of the weekend and celebrated 'Lexi Day' on Saturday instead. She got to take charge for the day and decide all of the activities! She enjoyed a fun sister slumber party on Friday night where she watched her favourite tv programmes and ate lots of treats with her sisters. On Saturday morning she booked herself into 'Ruby's Salon' where she got some lovely pink eyeshadow. Her family made her a basket of goodies that included fun things to play with and more decorations for her fairy garden! She made her favourite lemon cupcakes with strawberries for a special treat to eat. After dinner, Lexi had a special delivery of yummy sundaes from her favourite ice-cream shop! I hope you enjoyed your weekend Lexi, thanks for telling us all about it! :)
