It was National Tree Day on October 6th 2016. The Birches went to Emo Park. When the bus arrived, we all hopped on. Everybody had a partner. When the bus stopped, we all got our things and started walking. There, we met Valerie. She taught us about trees. We searched for seeds and leaves. We saw all different types of trees like; birch, oak, yew, ash, sycamore beech and lime. We also saw a diseased tree that had fallen. It was all sticky and gooey. There was a lake in Emo with swans and mallards.
The teachers we went with were; Ms. O'Brien, Ms. Kelly, Mr. O'Toole and Ms O'Sullivan. Valerie was our tour guide. We learned lots of stuff like all trees have different leaves and buds. We had lunch and took funny pictures. We walked five and a half miles and over 11,000 steps! We had lots of fun on our trip to Emo.
